| Configuring Mail (Messenger) and News
(Collabra) While Netscape makes for a great web browser, it
can also be used for checking e-mail and Usenet news. Below are instructions to set up
Communicator's Mail and News components (Messenger and Collabra).
To Configure e-mail (Messenger):
Select Preferences from the Edit
menu.
Click once on the plus (+)
sign to the left of Mail and News category.
Click once on Identity, just below
the Mail and News category.
Fill in the following fields:
Name: Your full name
E-mail address: Your e-mail address in the form
mailbox@kayetech.com
For example: jdoe@kayetech.com.
Reply Address: Type the same
information that you entered for E-mail Address.
Organization: This can be the company you represent
or work for. It is optional.
Signature File: Any text in this field will appear
at the bottom of every e-mail you send. This is useful for things such as automatically
putting your name and e-mail address at the bottom of every e-mail you send. You can press
the Choose button to select a text file as your signature.
Click once on Mail Server in the Category
window.
Enter the following information in the Identity
section:
Mail server username: Enter your KayeTech mailbox
(Do not use the second part of your e-mail address, just the part to the left of the @
symbol.)
Outgoing Mail (SMTP): domain.com Replace domain with the
second part of your e-mail address. For example, kayetech.com.
Incoming Mail (POP3): domain.com Replace domain with the
second part of your e-mail address. For example, kayetech.com.
Under Mail Server Type, click once
on POP3 if it is not already selected.
Press OK.
Netscape Communicator's Messenger component should now
be configured for e-mail.
Configuring Usenet News (Collabra)
